Fleece or French Terry: Choosing a Fabric for Your Collection

Compare the inner surface
Fleece commonly has a brushed inner surface, while French terry has visible loops. Ask for swatches because finishing and construction influence the feel as much as the fabric name.
Match the intended use
Consider climate, layering, garment shape and customer preference. A soft interior may suit cold-weather collections; a loopback construction may suit versatile casualwear. These are starting points, not guarantees of performance.
Review weight and composition together
Fabric weight alone does not determine warmth, durability or quality. Compare composition, knit structure, surface finish and the behavior of a sewn sample.
Test before committing
Agree wash-care instructions and evaluate shrinkage, color change and hand feel after washing. Any certification or performance claim should have relevant supporting documentation.
